CORONAVIRUS - ALPACA WALKS DEFERRED
Here at Hilly Ridge Alpacas we have to think of the safety of our guests and staff. We have taken the difficult decision to cancel all alpaca walking for the rest of March and all of April 2020. We understand that this may be upsetting for anyone who has booked a walk with us. However, we have to think safety first. We have noted advice from the Government and the British Alpaca Society in relation to the coronavirus outbreak. The latest government advice is that "people should avoid non-essential travel" and "avoid gatherings".
We will be constantly monitoring the situation with regards to future
walks. Those that have booked walks during the rest of March and April
will be postponed to a future date this year. As we don't quite know how long this is likely to last for, we are not as yet re booking your walk but will start to contact you and when the restrictions are lifted and you can rebook your alpacas experience at a date that is suitable for you. By then i think we will all need a nice walk in the countryside with an alpaca. We really appreciate you waiting to re-book with us as this is of course a worrying time for small business with animals and staff wages to cater for and your support in deferring you walk would be appreciated. However there are times we understand this is not possible and we will of course offer a full refund
You may be concerned about the welfare of our walking alpacas but you can rest assured that they will be enjoying the extra time in the field although they also enjoy the extra walks in the countryside. . We aim to use this time (without being able to offer walks) to good end. We will be training some of the new boys and also the new babies team will hopefully up and running by the time we open again so come along and meet the new alpacas to the team. Please keep an eye on our social media pages and we will keep you updated with what is going on at the farm.
These are difficult times for us all but you can rest assured your
health is paramount to us. We will keep the diary open for future
bookings after April 2020 and keep you in touch of any changes. In the
event of continuing restrictions after April, we will continue on the
Stay safe and see you soon
